HC Encrypt offers a simple way to encrypt the data fork of your (preferably small) files. You can scramble and compress encrypted files, or if you are a registered user, encrypt files using the newly developed HCE 2 algorithm. In addition, HC Encrypt supports key files, which basically are files with 64 [random] letters in them. HC Encrypt can create random 64 letter key files.
HC Encrypt’s main purpose is not to encrypt large files, but encrypt small files containing sensitive information such as account numbers, passwords, etc. It is not practical to encrypt large files with HC Encrypt (mainly because it is slow).
Do NOT delete the HCE Reg File as it is very important if you decide to register HC Encrypt.

When I receive your money, I will send you two serial numbers that can be used in conjunction with each other to enable HCE 2 encryption. Remember to include your name and spell it as you would when you personalize HC Encrypt (i.e. case sensitive).

1.5 - Added the HCE 2 algorithm (only available to registered users), the serial number schemes and the registration form. Removed the speed issues section of this text. Added option to create and use key files. Very noticeable interface change. Now more graphical and status based than previous versions. Fixed a bug which would cause HC Encrypt to give a wrong key error even if the right key was used. This bug only appears when using HyperCard Player (I think). Removed several rather serious bugs in the compression routine. It now works perfect (I hope...). Only released for beta testing (not publicly).

I offer no guarantee that HC Encrypt is a secure way of encrypting files, although it is my belief that it is. The algorithms used by HC Encrypt is licensable from me.
